Benefits of Subscribing

Anyone may use materials in the library at no charge and use the public PCs for 1 hour per day.  Subscribers have these additional privileges:

  • Unlimited time on the public PCs (Westlaw, Lexis, Internet)
  • No limit on the number of items that may be checked out
  • No charge for up to 20 pages per week for e-mail, photocopy and fax requests OR up to 4 electronic documents of any length e-mailed (free invoicing for larger requests) (find out more)

  • Free access to legal periodicals, law books, general interest periodicals, and newspaper databases from your office or home (find out more)

Resident Attorneys
Attorneys licensed to practice law in Minnesota with their offices in Hennepin County.

 

$70 x total Hennepin County-based attorneys in the firm.
Non-resident Attorneys
Attorneys licensed to practice law in Minnesota who have offices outside of Hennepin County but within a 25-mile radius of the Law Library.

 

$80 x total attorneys in the firm.
Government Offices
  • Officials of the United States
  • Officials of the State of Minnesota
  • Officials of Hennepin County
  • Subordinates of these officials

 

No annual fee.

If you do not meet the subscriber criteria, or you do not wish to subscribe, you may check out materials as a Temporary Borrower:

Temporary Borrowers:

Must be Minnesota residents 
Must live within a 25-mile radius of the Law Library

  • Leave refundable deposit of $40 per item (cash or personal check only)
  • Limit of 2 items per transaction
  • Limit of 2 transactions per year
